You're sort of self assured dick, aren't you?

You have no idea if an internet tablet would work with consumers. The data isn't in. You cite the original Newton and Palm as examples? Plain silly. When those devices first appeared consumers where barely use to being online, much less than living their lives online. Not to mention the tech was lagging behind.

For internet tablet to catch on it will really come down to ergonomics, ease of use & and built in killer app or two. Like the ipod touch. By the way, the ipod touch is already an internet tablet, I having been wishing for a bigger version of it for a year now.

This is the problem with younger people who write about technology nowadays, they are surrounded by and use visionary technology so they conclude their own outlook is visionary. Let me assure you, yours is not.

Remember when Jobs came back to Apple in the late 90s and announced he was going to be making something called the iMac? In tech columns, online and off, he was laughed at. They said it would never save Apple. Going back to the future with in all in one desktop would never fly with the established online computer crowd. Too bad they failed to see Jobs wasn't trying for those all ready occupying that space. He was going for the computer-phobic and the online-curious.

Done right, like the ipod and iphone, an internet tablet will be coveted by you and all your friends.
