Kenwood Vineyards debuts new Yulupa series label
Kenwood (Sonoma Valley), CA, October 2, 2009 – Kenwood Vineyards debuts a handsome new label for its restaurant-only Yulupa Series with the release this month of the 2008 Kenwood Yulupa Chardonnay and 2007 Kenwood Yulupa Cabernet Sauvignon. The roll out of the new label on all the wines in the Yulupa Series will be completed over the next several months.
Designed by HeckArt Studios of Beverly Hills, California, the new Yulupa Series label highlights its Kenwood Vineyards identity while achieving a distinctive “stand alone” image through the utilization of dedicated shape, paper stock, embossing and gold highlights. Kenwood Vineyards established the Yulupa Series in the early 1990s to provide the restaurant community with easy-drinking, palate-pleasing premium wines for by-the-glass sales. Crafted to the same high standards as Kenwood Vineyards Sonoma County wines, the five varietal wines and Cuvée Brut California champagne in the Yulupa Series have attained impressive popularity, with sales exceeding 100,000 cases per year.
Both the just-released 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Yulupa Chardonnay and 2007 Kenwood Vineyards Series Cabernet Sauvignon showcase the smoothness and drinkability that have made the Kenwood Yulupa Series an on-premise favorite. The 2008 Kenwood Yulupa Chardonnay marries fresh red apple, white nectarine and citrus character with a hint of vanilla complexity. Generous yet polished, it finishes with delicate crispness that invites second glasses. The 2007 Kenwood Yulupa Cabernet Sauvignon displays forward black currant and blackberry aromas, accented by a subtle note of cedar smoke. Black currant and blackberry also highlight the round, medium-bodied flavors, together with dark chocolate and Kalamata olive nuances. The 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Yulupa Chardonnay and 2007 Kenwood Vineyards Yulupa Cabernet Sauvignon are available nationally exclusively to restaurants and other on-premise accounts.
