San Jose downtown art, NextNew: Green at ICA
Tonight is the opening reception for the latest exhibition, NextNew: Green, now showing in the main gallery at San Jose’s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA).
“Green presents fresh perspectives on climate change and related environmental and conservation issues.” Featuring the work of 9 emerging artists, “the aim is to provoke and evoke a response from you that leads to a broader dialogue about each of us might think, react and act on this global crisist that goes beyond the walls of this gallery.”

Curator Susan O’Malley takes Loni on a tour of some of the pieces in the video below. The exhibit runs to September 20, 2009.
Also, don’t miss the site-specific sculptural installation, Ice Floe, by Christel Dillbohner which references the majestic Arctic landscape.
