Is it mañana yet?: The adventures of building a home in Loreto Bay
I still remember the day I was introduced to the word: mañana.
It was at the Inn at Loreto Bay at a sales presentation with the original founders of the vision and company, TSD Loreto. It was the start of 2006 and the watercolor photos of the homes and landscapes struck a cord with so many of us that were there.
I thought I’d post an update on our home after we received several emails from readers following our adventures in building a home in Loreto, BCS.
These photos were emailed to me by Robert Ortola. Everything looks as I remembered it when I toured the place in March 2009 with Christian of Loreto Bay, Alfredo of Beck Loreto and a representative from Ginax, our contractor who built the home. The only change was seeing how overgrown the plants in the courtyard have gotten.
A reminder that even with the starts and stops in our construction of our Casa del Lagarto Azul, mother nature continues on.
I can’t wait to see everyone in the Bay Area at Mike B’s home in late September for a Loreto Bay party and then in November when Clint and I will be down in Loreto, BCS. My mom will be coming along with us and it will be her first time seeing Loreto, BCS.
Should be loads of fun! I have my fingers crossed that the utilities situation gets sorted out by then.

More two cents on another subject. Beware those sissus(sp) vines. They eventually dry up and turn brown, attach to your walls in a very messy way, impossible to clean off and grow everywhere. We got rid of all of ours.
