Simple Pleasures
“Live simply” tomato and feta salad
Ripe tomatoes from the kitchen garden. A shame to do too much.
Pick, wash, slice. Place slice on plate, sprinkle with fresh crumbled feta. Repeat.
Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil hand carried all the way from the rolling hills of Cortona, Italy.
Drip some Oliviers & Co. Balsamic Vinegar of Modena purchased on my last trip to New York.
Uncork and pour a glass of Chardonnay.
So much effort exuded. In the end, perfection is in the simplicity of this dish.
A burst of sweetness melts against the saltiness of the feta. A tinge of acidity on the finish is smoothed away by the richness of the olive oil. Live simply.

Wow..and we just saw Julie and Julia last night.
This entry is perfection Loni.
What did you think of the movie Jane? Just saw the trailer for it and I may crawl out of my home theater to see this one in the cinemas.
We loved the movie. It was such a treat to get to know Julia better through the awesome Meryl Streep. We totally enjoy Meryl’s form of absorption into her characters. So this was fun to watch and it has a great, true-ish story and there are lots of people totally enjoying food. What’s not to like?
Clint and I made this dish again today after our workout at the gym and it was just as delish as yesterday. Now I just have to wait for our tomato plants to bear a second round of ripe tomatoes.
yum!
