Monica’s ‘Sail away with me’ Vegetable Planter Box

planter-box-monica-2

Monica D. sent in photos of her completed vegetable planter box this week and when I saw them, I knew I would name this variation on my planter box design as the ‘Sail away with me’ vegetable planter box.

Monica painted her planter box a crisp white to match the siding of her home. I think the color gives the planter box a sea-side cottage, nautical feel. The white enhances the horizontal lines of this planter, clean and modern. I love the contrast of the color against the dark, rich soil and the deep green leaves of the plants.

Good luck Monica, hope you and your family harvest some wonderful veggies and it provides you a wonderful little spot to be able to run your fingers through the soil while dreaming about sailing by the sea.

Here are two pictures of my planter box. . . Thanks to you and your blog, I can now enjoy my own veggies in a superb planter “box”.

Take care.

I just love these raised containers! Anyone who enjoys gardening but has a hard time bending would really benefit from building these boxes. They add beauty AND are practical which is a rare combination in the gardening world.

    Thanks for your post!

hi, i’m from the u k and have enjoyed your site. the only thing i can add is would’nt it be easier to make the planter all in one instead of attaching the seperate legs. this will also make it much stronger. regards keith yorkshire england .
