La Mision Hotel: A breath-taking addition to the Loreto Baja Malecon

by Loni Kao Stark (@lonikaostark) | 01.08.09 | Comment

I was a little skeptical when I first passed La Mision Hotel under construction along the blue Sea of Cortez.

Dust and heavy construction equipment was scattered around and all I could see was a rough structure of cement, stone, iron and wood emerging and changing the Loreto “skyline”. Little did I know that this was merely a temporary state and what I was witnessing was really a diamond in the rough.

As the workers start to polish it, the photos from Al G. show a clear transformation. La Mision Hotel is starting to gleam.

Murals along the La Mision Hotel. Absolutely love the concept and the execution.
